Abstract:
The trial of Gen. Mladic for genocide is one of the most important ones of the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia (ICTY).  Problems with the trial began immediately, however, when on May 16, 2012, Judge Alphons Orie suspended the start of the presentation of evidence indefinitely due to “the prosecution’s significant disclosure errors.”[1]  On May 24, 2012, Trial Chamber I scheduled the start of hearing of the prosecution’s first witness for Monday June 25, 2012.[2]
