Abstract:
Five American citizens who alleged injury in one of eight Iranian terrorist attacks between 1983 and 2003 brought their claims to court in Ontario, Canada.  Each of these plaintiffs had previously obtained judgment in U.S. courts against Iran for damages arising from its material support of terrorism and had prevailed on the merits of their cases but were unable to collect on their judgments.  As it would turn out for them, a new Canadian law entitled them to seek recognition and enforcement of the 12 American judgments north of their border.
