An interesting legal and political battle is developing as counsel for Saudi Arabian businessman Saleh Idris, whose pharmaceutical plant in Sudan was destroyed in a U.S. missile attack on August 20, 1998, have approached the U.S. for compensation for the El Shifa pharmaceutical plant and the release of some $23 million in assets the U.S. Office of Foreign Assets Control U.S. Department of Treasury froze.
