Abstract:
Following a speech by European Communities (EC) Financial Services Commissioner Leon Brittan on January 11, 1990, when he announced that the E.C. will launch an offensive against money laundering as a complement to the E.C.-wide liberalization of financial services and capital government, the EC Commission published its first draft recommendation for community measures against money laundering at the end of January.
