Swiss Court Convicts in Absentia and Sentences Falciani to 5 Years Imprisonment for HSBC Tax Leaks

On November 27, 2015, a Swiss federal court in Bellinzona convicted Hervé Falciani of attempted aggravated economic espionage and sentenced him to five years imprisonment.  However, Falciani, a French citizen, remains a fugitive in France, and may not serve any of the sentence.
