European Court of Human Rights Halts UK Extradition of a Terrorist Suspect to the United States

On September 9, 2013, judges of the European Court of Human Rights (the Court) rejected the United Kingdom’s request for a referral of the case Aswat v. the United Kingdom (application no. 17299/12) to the Grand Chamber. Therefore, the Court’s decision delivered on April 16, 2013, became final.
