Abstract:
On April 4, 2013, the Court of Appeal for British Columbia issued a judgment in favor of the Federation of Law Societies (FLSC) and against the Canadian government, ruling that the December 2008 amendments to the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act, insofar as parts of them applied to Canadian lawyers, was a violation of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.[1]
