Abstract:
In July, the Bahamian government repatriated 212 illegal Haitian immigrants to Port-au-Prince, the latest in a wave of human smuggling from Haiti to its wealthier, more stable neighbor to the north. The Bahamian government spent nearly $1 million last year repatriating illegal Haitians and is on course to spend a similar sum this year.[1]
