Abstract:

On September 18, 2003, the European Council of Ministers replied to a request by European MP Marco Cappato regarding the transfer of personal data between Europe and the U.S. Cappato was interested in the legal basis for such an exchange of personal information. The Council responded that they had only shared information in cases of life and death.
