Abstract:
In 2004, the International Monetary Fund/World Bank have published a handbook, Financial Intelligence Units: An Overview (133 pp., 2004, ISBN 1-58906-349-X).
The reason for the book is that financial intelligence units (FIUs) have existed for more than ten years. With more than eighty having gained admission into the Egmont Group, the informal international association of FIUs established in 1995, and many more countries planning to establish an FIU or improve the effectiveness of existing ones, the IMF/World Bank correctly believed in the need for an overall discussion of FIUs as a guide for authorities who want to establish such organizations...[more]
