Abstract:
On October 11, 2001, the media reported a Brazilian federal judge has temporarily blocked an extradition request by Paraguay for Gen. Lino Oviedo, the former head general. Oviedo was detained in Brazil last year on charges that helped organize the 1999 assassination of Vice President Luis Maria Argana.
