Abstract:
This second volume in the series “Annotated Cases of International Criminal Tribunals” has decisions of the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR). Part 1 discusses preliminary matters and covers decisions of the ICTR before the actual proceedings have started. It has a decision on jurisdiction, the Kanyabashi case, and decisions on the form of the indictment, and other preliminary matters.
Part 2 discusses relations to national jurisdictions, such as cooperation. It includes three decisions on deferral requests that each amount to the start of important prosecutions by the ICTR.
