Abstract:
On September 14, 2006, U.S. federal marshals in Hawaii arrested well-known bounty hunter Duane "Dog" Chapman on kidnaping charges arising out of the 2003 capture of a U.S. fugitive in Mexico. In 2003, Chapman entered Mexico and captured Andrew Luster, the Max Factor heir convicted of raping three women. After Chapman captured Luster and returned him to the U.S., Mexican authorities arrested Chapman and charged him with "deprivation of liberty." Chapman, who was released on bail, did not return for a court hearing in July 2003.
