Council of Europe Report Shows 14 European Countries Aided CIA Renditions

On June 7, 2006, the Committee on Legal Affairs and Human Rights of the Council of Europe’s Parliamentary Assembly issued a report examining the participation of at least fourteen Council member states in the U.S.’ controversial rendition program. The report concludes that the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency’s (CIA) “rendition” program involved an international web of facilities linked by military planes and civilian flights run by the CIA.
