Abstract:
This book, which is written in Dutch with an English summary at the end, discusses gathering evidence from witnesses abroad in criminal cases in the Netherlands, Germany and the United States. The first three chapters describe the ways in which these governments take evidence from witness abroad for use in criminal procedures "at home." Chapter 4 provides a comparative study and finds major similarities in German and U.S. case law, both placing the first priority on hearing the witness in court and then on an interrogation abroad.
