Abstract:
The OECD’s Global Forum on Taxation met in Mexico September 1-2, 2009 (“Meeting”) and was attended by representatives of about sixty-two jurisdictions, and eight international organizations. (European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, European Commission, Financial Action Task Force, Inter-American Development Bank, International Finance Corporation, International Monetary Fund, Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, and World Bank). The OECD had circulated before the Meeting a detailed document (43 pages) entitled “Transparency and Exchange of Information for Tax Purposes: A Proposed Framework for A More In Depth Monitoring and Peer Review, and Restructuring the Global Forum.” (page 43)
