U.S. and Mexico Develop Investigative Cooperation on International Firearms Trafficking Cases

On August 13, 2009, the U.S. and Mexican governments announced the signing of a letter of intent to develop a coordinated and intelligence-based response to the threat of cross border smuggling and trafficking of weapons and ammunition.
