U.S. Supreme Court Will Decide Power of Court to Dismiss Indictments Before Trial Due to Government Misconduct

On January 11, the United States Supreme Court agreed to hear two cases and determine whether a federal district court has the authority to dismiss an indictment before trial if the district court finds evidence that government prosecutors were guilty of "willful, repeated and pervasive misconduct" in front of a grand jury.
