Abstract:
On April 17, 2013, the U.S. Supreme Court unanimously decided to limit the ability of plaintiffs to bring suits under the Alien Tort Statute (ATS), which has been one of the main statutes under which plaintiffs have sued corporations and individuals for breaches of fundamental human rights, such as torture and crimes against humanity.[1]
