U.S. Signs Convention on Administrative Assistance in Tax Matters

On June 28, 1989, the United States Government signed the Council of Europe/Organization of Economic and Development Convention on Mutual Administrative Assistance in Tax Matters.  Since it appears likely that the Convention will come into force in the near future, it is useful to review in summary form its provisions.
