On January 13, 3006, a Philippine judge ordered the arrest of four U.S. marines accused of raping a 22-year-old Filipina, a request that the U.S. Embassy rejected. Immediately after ordering the arrest, the judge said that the Philippine government would seek custody of the marines through "diplomatic means."
