Abstract:
On February 3, 1994, the Clinton Administration announced a $368 million program to strengthen migration enforcement on its Mexican border. The program continues the "Operation Blockade" program implemented last year in El Paso by the Clinton Administration and will involve more than 1,000 agents and sophisticated electronic equipment to the Southwest border. The proposed program will strengthen migration enforcement by increased efforts to deport illegal immigrants who are in prisons on criminal charges, stopping the sale of fraudulent documents, and revising the asylum process?[more]
