Abstract:
Despite the December 2005 passage of the Detainee Treatment Act, U.S. courts at all levels continue to deal with every imaginable issue of the detention of persons in the face of increasing public interest and concern. On March 3, 2006, the U.S. Department of Defense, after four years of secrecy, released the names of detainees at the U.S. military prison at Guantánamo Bay as well as unedited transcripts of the hearings under which the detainees have been held.
