Abstract: 
On December 19, 2000, the U.S. Court of Appeals affirmed the decision of the U.S. District Court, denying a motion to dismiss six of the nine counts of an indictment against Mohamed Rashed and rejecting his claim that the prosecution would violate the Double Jeopardy Clause due to his conviction in Greece. Rashed was indicted for participating in various bombing efforts around the world in violation of U.S. laws. The charges include activities in placing a bomb on an August 11, 1982, Pan Am flight from Tokyo to Honolulu, which killed one and wounded 15 passengers. The indictment also charges Rashed with conspiring in the same month to place a bomb on a Pan Am aircraft in Rio de Janeiro, a bomb that was discovered and removed safely.
