Abstract: 
On June 30, 2000, the U.S. Senate approved a spending bill that includes approximately $1.3 billion in counterdrug assistance to Colombia, primarily to help train and equip the Colombian Army and police forces eradicate and interdict the production of drugs and take law enforcement action against organized crime groups.
