U.S. and EU Implement Plans to Stop Firearms Exports

On April 22, 1998, the Clinton Administration notified the British Government that it was revoking all pending licenses for the export of firearms to British companies as a first step to stop the sale of firearms by U.S. companies to all fifteen members of the European Union.
