Abstract:
On March 3, 2008, the United Nations Security Council adopted its third resolution imposing sanctions on Iran for its refusal to stop enriching uranium, which a number of countries believe Iran is using to develop fuel for a nuclear weapon. The resolution extends the earlier sanctions resolutions, namely resolution 1737 (2006) of December 23, 2006 and its resolution 1747 (2007) of March 24, 2007.
