Abstract:

Al-Baghdad Ali al-Mahmoudi, the former Libyan prime minister under ex-Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi, can be extradited to Libya, a Tunisian court ruled November 8, 2011.  Mahmoudi, who was a key figure in Gaddafi’s regime during Mahmoudi’s tenure as prime minister from 2006 to 2011, is the first refugee member of the Gaddafi government ordered to return to Libya.[1]  The Libyan National Transitional Council petitioned the Tunisian government for the extradition of Mahmoudi, who will face charges for crimes committed during the Libyan civil war.[2]
