Abstract: 
On March 22, 1996, the international tribunal for war crimes in the former Yugoslavia issued its first indictments for crimes against Serbs, charging three Bosnian Muslims and a Bosnian Croat with murdering, torturing and raping Serbian prisoners at a detention camp in 1992. Meanwhile, on March 18, 1996, the leaders of Croatia and Serbia promised to send three senior military officers to The Hague by the end of March to stand trial for alleged war crimes, thereby marking a potential strengthening in their cooperation on this sensitive issue...(more)
