On June 19, 2013, the lower house of the Swiss Parliament voted by 123 to 63 against a settlement between the U.S. and Switzerland to resolve demands by the U.S. for Swiss banks to circumvent Swiss bank secrecy and surrender business records to U.S. authorities.[1]
