On January 12, 2007, Spanish law enforcement authorities arrested Isabel Perón, the former Argentinian president and widow of former Argentine president Juan Perón, on an international arrest warrant issued by Argentine judge Raul Acosta. Perón is charged with human rights abuses and crimes against humanity during her 20-month administration in the 1970s.
