Abstract:
After going on hunger strike in May 2012 and released on $1.4 billion bail in July, Zack Shahin, the former chief executive of Dubai-based company Deyaar, fled the UAE and was detained in Sanaa, Yemen. After being held in Sanaa, Yemeni authorities deported him back to the UAE[1]. Shahin was arrested in 2008, after being accused of embezzlement and fiscal improprieties at his real estate development company[2].
