Abstract:
The Final Declaration and Plan of Action resulting from the Quebec Summit of the Americas contain many proposals to enhance criminal cooperation in the Western Hemisphere.
The Declaration of Quebec City reiterates the commitment of the signatories to “combat new, multi-dimensional threats to the security” of the region, including “the global drug problem and related crimes, the illicit traffic in and criminal use of firearms, the growing danger posed by organized crime and the general problem of violence.” The signatories also pledge to increase the fight against corruption and strengthen the conditions for human security in the Hemisphere”…[more]
