Abstract:
On June 19, 20, and 23, 1986, the Subcommittee on Oversight of the Internal Revenue Service of the Senate Committee on Finance held hearings on Oversight of IRS and Justice Department Prosecution of Several Tax Cases (hereinafter "Oversight Hearings"). The hearings were held as a result of accusations leveled at the Justice Department by Senators and private citizens that prosecutorial abuse was a real problem in a number of tax fraud investigations and prosecutions.
