A Progress Report: Inter-American Cooperation to Combat Drugs

One of the major items to be considered at the sixteenth regular meeting of the General Assembly of the Organization of American States, to be held November 10-16, 1986, is inter-American cooperation to deal with the burgeoning problem of drug abuse and illicit drug traffic in the Western Hemisphere.  The General Assembly will be considering the implementation of a comprehensive initiative approved in Rio de Janeiro, April 25, 1986, at the Inter-American Specialized Conference on Narcotic Drugs.
