Abstract:
On March 28, 2012, the Privy Council found that its Judicial Committee had no jurisdiction to entertain an appeal by a detainer against a grant of habeas corpus in the Bahamas because of the law of jurisdiction, thereby affirming the denial by the Bahamian magistrate’s decision of the U.S. extradition request for Viktor Kozeny on the basis that none of the counts were extradition offenses under Bahamian law.[1]
