Abstract:
At its 2979th meeting, held in Brussels on 30 November and 1 December, 2009, the Council of the European Union – Justice and Home Affairs approved and adopted a framework decision on prevention and settlement of conflicts of jurisdiction in criminal proceedings. The measures provided for in the framework decision are aimed at preventing situations where the same person is subject to parallel criminal proceedings in different EU member states in respect of the same facts, which might lead to the final disposal of those proceedings in two or more member states.
