Abstract:
The House of Lords issued its second substantive decision in the Pinochet extradition case on 24 March 1999 after having revoked the first because of a conflict of interest due to contacts by one of the judges (Lord Hoffmann) to Amnesty International; the revocation also made ineffective the Home Office's initial authority to proceed.
