Abstract:
A major Internet-based pedophilic network was smashed on July 2, 2002 in an international police operation according The Hague. The operation focused on capturing members of a criminal organization that produced and distributed child pornography via the Internet. The organization also displayed real time abuse of children. Cooperation between Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Romania, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland the United States, and the United Kingdom resulted in raids that were successfully and simultaneously carried out in seven countries. Europol provided a central supporting and coordinating role in the operation.
