Abstract:

On March 21, 2013, the Organization of American States (OAS) adopted two model laws on anti-corruption.  The first concerns the submission and verification of declarations of net worth and interests of public servants, developed in the framework of its anti-corruption mechanism, Mechanism for Follow-Up on the Implementation of the Inter-American Convention against Corruption, (MESICIC).  The second is the model law to facilitate and encourage the reporting of acts of corruption and to protect whistleblowing and witnesses.
