Abstract:
On January 21, 2003, speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, finance minister for Nigeria, announced an initiative against Internet fraud. Ms. Okonjo-Iweala said her government will start an initiative against cyberfraud that would enlist Nigerian law enforcement officials and promote a global advertising campaign to educate and warn potential victims. The enforcement initiative against scam artists must be a vital part of the Nigerian reforms designed to build investor confidence in Nigeria.
