On September 27, 2005, the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) said that 250-300 armed Arab men on horses and camels attacked the Aro Sharow camp. The camp, in which 4,000 and 5,000 people lived, lies 16 km (10 miles) north of the town of Saleah in an area that the U.N. could not enter for months due to continuing violence.
