On September 28, 2007, Mexican authorities arrested two individuals wanted for extradition to the U.S. Authorities arrested Sandra Avila Beltrán, nicknamed “Queen of the Pacific” and her boyfriend, Juan Diego Espinosa, nicknamed “The Tiger.” Beltrán, who has ties to Ismael “el Mayo” Zambada García, one of the heads of the Sinaloa trafficking organization, was arrested in a wealthy area of Mexico City.
