Abstract:
On January 4, 2017, French police arrested former Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj, a KLA (Kosovo Liberation Army / UCK) commander during the 1998-99 Kosovo war, on a Serbian warrant. Haradinaj, the leader of the opposition party Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), was travelling on a diplomatic passport when he was stopped by French authorities. A French court decided to keep him in custody “until Serbia makes a formal extradition request”, Reuters reported on Thursday evening.
