Abstract: 
On August 27, 1987, Andrew Maloney, United States Attorney for the Eastern District of New York, and Richard Smith, Chief of Field Operations, Bureau of the Federal Communications Commission, announced that the Government will defer criminal prosecution against Alan Weiner and Ivan Rothstein, two New York "pirate" radio disc-jockeys and owners of RNI-Radio New York International.
