On February 28, 2004, the prosecution announced it was resting its case against the former Yugoslav president Slobodan Milosevic early in the wake of the announcement approximately one week before that the presiding judge, Richard May, resigned due to illness. Meanwhile, Mr. Milosevic has until June 8 to prepare his defense.
