On October 20, 1993, Geraldine Ferraro testified before the House Subcommittee on International Security, International Organizations and Human Rights on the importance of promoting women’s rights as an integral aspect of human rights. The hearing mirrored increased efforts within the international community this year to focus on the particular problem of granting women equal human rights.
