Abstract: 
On December 6, 2004, the International Court of Justice decided it will holding public hearings in the case concerning Armed Activities on the Territory of the Congo (Democratic Republic of the Congo v. Uganda) from April 11-29, 2005. On June 23, 1999, the DRC filed an Application instituting proceedings against Uganda for "acts of armed aggression perpetrated in flagrant violation of the United Nations Charter and of the Charter of the OAU." The DRC sought to stop the alleged acts of aggression directed against it in central Africa in general and in then Great Lakes region specifically.
