Abstract:
On April 3, 2012, the International Criminal Court Prosecutor issued a statement, denying a request of the Palestinian authority to sign the Rome Statute. The statement was in response to a declaration made on January 22, 2009, pursuant to article 12(3) of the Rome Statute, in which Al Kashan, acting as Minister of Justice of the Palestine Government, accepted the exercise of jurisdiction by the ICC for “acts committed on the territory of Palestine since July 1, 2002.”[1]
