Abstract: 
During the third week of September 2016, the Government Accountability Office (GAO) issued a report on efforts by the U.S. government to combat wildlife trafficking, recommending the establishment of performance targets for assessing the progress of U.S. assistance to African governments in stopping the poaching of elephants and rhinoceros and trafficking of ivory and rhino horns.
